Valor Econômico, the main business newspaper in Brazil, published a story about the two Brazilian instruments selected by the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance.
The note describes both Conexsus Impact Fund and Sustainable Agriculture Finance Facility, saying “the two projects intend to unlock a total of US $ 2 billion in financing in up to ten years for projects with social and environmental sustainability criteria”.
“For the selection of projects, the Lab took into account the degree of innovation of the financial instrument, its rapid viability, the potential to attract private interest at scale, and the financial sustainability of the mechanisms”, explained Barbara Buchner, Managing Director of CPI. “It also took into account how the projects are related to the national targets agreed by the country in the Paris Agreement.”
