If China can make corruption work in its favour, why not South Africa?

In an article published in the online newspaper Sunday Times, Ivor Chipkin discusses the book “China’s Gilded Cage: The Paradox of Economic Boom and Vast Corruption”, by Singaporean author Yuen Yuen Ang on how China was able to unite high rates of development in a context of high corruption, drawing lessons for the South African case.
